South West Water Petition
Our rivers should be full of wildlife. Our beaches should be places to enjoy. Families should be able to paddle, swim and explore without worrying about sewage pollution.
South West Water must stop treating the places we love as an extension of its sewer network.
From the Tors of Dartmoor to both our coastlines, our communities deserve better. Rain is part of life in the South West. It is no excuse for a sewage system that cannot cope.
We pay South West Water to take our sewage away and treat it properly. We deserve infrastructure that protects our rivers, provides honest information about pollution, and a company that puts public health and nature before shareholder payouts.
Sign the petition and demand action.
I have challenged South West Water directly, visited sewage treatment works, and pressed for answers about discharges into streams and rivers. Being told the system is “operating as it should” is no comfort when that system allows sewage into our rivers.
Together, we can keep the pressure up.

Our petition to South West Water and its parent company, Pennon Group
We the undersigned call on South West Water and Pennon to:
End sewage dumping: publish a fully funded plan with clear deadlines to stop sewage discharges into our rivers and seas.
Fix the infrastructure: upgrade treatment works, increase storm storage, and tackle excess surface water entering foul sewers.
Tell the whole truth: provide clear, timely, and accurate discharge information, and fund proper water-quality testing.
Put clean water before payouts: cease all shareholder dividends and executive bonuses until there is a full year of no sewage discharges.
Our rivers belong to all of us. Their protection should never come second to profit.
South West Water: stop dumping sewage in our rivers and seas
